Helen Hester

Mrs. Helen Hester, age 76, of White River Road, Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 in a Rome Medical Center.


She was born on April 12, 1934 a daughter of the late Will Douglas Edwards and Lillie Ethel Ward Edwards. Mrs. Hester was a homemaker and had lived all of her life in Polk County. She was of the Holiness faith.


Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Mr. Johnnie Hester, Rockmart; two sons: Mr. Danny Hester and Mr. Tim Hester, both of Rockmart; two daughters: Mrs. Phyllis Middlebrooks and Mrs. Wanda Grizzle both of Rockmart; two sisters: Mrs. Myra Cole and Mrs. Janice Edwards both of Rockmart; three brothers: Mr. Douglas Edwards, Cedartown, Mr. Houston Edwards, Rockmart and Mr. Donald Edwards, Cedartown; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and friends also survive.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. James Overton and Rev. Jimmy Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Douglas Edwards, Jonathon Edwards, Houston Edwards, Vince Edwards, Britt Earwood and Hubert Cole.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
