Henry Williams

Mr. Henry Williams, age 89, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023.

Mr. Williams was born in Taylorsville, GA on November 20, 1933, a son of the late Benjamin Rush Williams, Sr. and Annie Lee Smalley Williams. He had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a member of Floyd Creek Baptist. Mr. Williams retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and was also a former Rockmart Police officer. He had a love for cars and enjoyed working on them.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Williams; sisters, Catherine Sullins, Margie Wright, Anne Eurly and Gail Fergason; and brothers, Ben Williams, Jr. and Neal Williams.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 70 years, Audrey Rodgers Williams, whom he married November 1, 1952; sons, David Williams of Cedartown, and Joel (Angela) Williams of Braselton, GA; grandchild, Abigail (Jonathan) Daniell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Brother Melton Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Williams’ family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until the funeral hour at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
