Inez Hulsey Spain

Mrs. Inez Hulsey Spain, age 88, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025.

Mrs. Spain was born in Rockmart on July 18, 1936, daughter of the late Clarence Hulsey and Gertrude Brooks Hulsey. She had lived all her life in Rockmart and was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ. Mrs. Spain retired from Murata Manufacturing. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed raising her children. Mrs. Spain enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spain was preceded in death by her husband, Arvel Spain, whom she married on January 31, 1958, a sister, Betty Ann Goddard, two brothers, Robert Hulsey and Sherman Hulsey, and a step-son, Robert Spain.

Mrs. Spain is survived by her children, Patsy (John) Pugh, Bobby Ray Thompson, Micky (Anthony) Holland, and Danny (Brenda) Spain; grandchildren, Kimberly Wheeler, Chad Spain, Candy Chandler, Robin Thompson, Shane Hulvey, Eric Hulvey, Amelia Holland, April Weldon, Kelsey Weldon, Candice Hulvey, Destiny Hulvey, and Will Hulvey; brother, Sonny Hulsey. Numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Spain will be held on Saturday afternoon, June 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Dyer, Rev. Barry Taylor, and Rev. John Lemmings officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Mrs. Spain’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Saturday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Chad Fortune, Robin Thompson, David Ivey, Scott Weldon, Kaleb Pike, Ronnie Weldon, Chad Spain, and Joseph Houston. Honorary pallbearers will include Andy George and Drake Jones.
