Mr. James Richard Beasley, age 84, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025.
James was born in Atlanta, GA, on March 21, 1941, son of the late Benjamin Franklin Beasley and the late Zella Pearl Aly Beasley. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Viertnam War, and was a 1963 graduate of Lousania State University, where he earned his Batchelor’s Degree. James was a land surveyor who also worked in several different occupations. He enjoyed hiking in the woods and listening to music, especially from the 60’s and 70’s, camping, traveling and working with his hands, especially doing artwork. He always cherished his time with family and his most important role was being a Daddy to anyone who needed one.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra Lynn Short Beasley, and a granddaughter Angelique Katheryn Irene “Katie” Argue.
James is survived by his daughter, Nancy Lynn-Argue; granddaughter, Elizabeth Luisjuan; god-daughters, Tracy Jackson, Karen Reagan, Sharon Martin, and Margie Wise and seventeen other people who called him Daddy.
In keeping with his wishes, James will be cremated, and his cremains will be placed in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
