James C. Forrister

Mr. James C. Forrister, age 86, of Cedartown, GA passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Cedartown, GA.

He was born in Cleburne County, AL on February 17, 1931 a son of the late Arthur Forrister and Emily Puckett Forrister. Mr. Forrister had been a resident of Cedartown since 1951and was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ. He was a contractor for over thirty years in Polk County having an ownership in Forrister & Forrister Contracting and also in Polk Development Company. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James Keith Forrister on September 18, 2001; by two brothers: Curtis and Dewey Forrister and by several half brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Geneva Witt Forrister; son, Kyle Forrister and wife Lorie; three grandchildren: Anna Forrister, Jennifer Forrister and Jamie Forrister; one great grandson, Payton Bell; two half brothers: Frank and Howard; five half sisters: Judy, Rachel, Linda, Missy and Teresa.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2107 at 2:30 pm in Polk Memory Gardens with Ministers Doug Simms and Josh Clevenger officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Payton Bell, Frank Forrister, Howard Forrister, Jim McClure, Chris McClure and Scott Forrister.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
