James Daniel ( Danny ) Ledbetter

TSGT James Daniel (Danny) Ledbetter, United States Air Force retired, age 78, of Cedartown, GA passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 in a Rome medical center.

Danny was born in Atlanta, GA on February 24, 1941 a son of the late Wiley Armstrong Ledbetter and the late Mattie Mae Travis Ledbetter. He had been a resident of Cedartown since October of 2017 moving there from Rockmart and had previously lived in Florida. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving three years followed by a twenty year career in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1980. Mr. Ledbetter was of the Baptist faith, loved to fish and cut grass. He enjoyed his animals, both cats and dogs and cars, especially mustangs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded by two brothers: Douglas and Wesley Ledbetter.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Joyce Campbell Ledbetter of Cedartown to whom he was married on October 1, 1962; two daughters: Mrs. Wendy Lorraine Squires, Rockmart and Mrs. Trista Herrera (Richard), Rockmart; two sons: Mr. James Daniel Ledbetter, Jr. (Melissa), Cedartown and Mr. Michael Edward Ledbetter (Christina), Panama City, FL; three brothers: Robert Ledbetter, Albuquerque, NM, Joseph Ledbetter, Villa Rica, GA and Allen Ledbetter, Villa Rica, GA; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Campbell and Mr. Jerry Hanline officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the memorial hour at 2:00 pm.
