James Marvin "Marty" Nettles

Mr. James Marvin “Marty” Nettles, age 58, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Friday morning, June 30, 2023.

Marty was born in Rome, GA on February 8, 1965 a son of the late James Guy Nettles and the late Ivanell Arp Nettles.  He had lived all of his life in Rockmart and had attended New Prospect Baptist Church.  Marty was a1983 graduate of Rockmart High School and received a chemistry degree from Shorter College.  He was a retired employee of over thirty years with the Georgia Power Company having worked in the lab at Plant Bowen.

Survivors include his brother Derrick Nettles and his wife Kim; nephew Zack Nettles and his wife Raven and an aunt, Helen Flippen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Purser officiating.  Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 at the funeral home.
