James Ray “Tubby” Norris, age 34, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday morning, September 14, 2026.

Tubby was born in Rome, GA on August 28, 1992, son of the late Benny Norris and the late Beverly Dyer. He spent his entire life in Rockmart and was a 2012 graduate of Rockmart High School. Tubby worked with C.W. Matthews Paving Company.

Tubby had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness. He loved playing video games, watching animated movies, and spending time in the kitchen cooking. He was a devoted Alabama football fan and enjoyed cheering on his team. Above all, Tubby will be remembered for the memories he made and the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Tubby was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Lee Ingram, Jr.; and his grandmother, Rose Marie Smith.

He is survived by his brothers, Donald Smith (Jane), and Willie Smith.
