James Eugene "Jim" Smith

Mr. James Eugene “Jim” Smith, Jr., age 66, of Taylorsville, GA, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 28, 2024.

Jim was born in Macon, GA, on September 13, 1958, son of Mary Ann Crandall Smith and the late James Eugene Smith, Sr. He was raised in Atlanta, GA, but spent his adult life in Taylorsville and was of the Baptist faith. Jim was employed with ABF Freight and cherished all the special friendships he developed over the years with his work family. In his spare time, he loved growing and nurturing all types of plants and trees.

Jim is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Smith; sister, Jenny (Robert) Saladna; four nephews, Alexander Saladna, Andrew Saladna, Austin Saladna, and Payton Saladna.

Graveside and interment services for Jim will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Taylorsville Cemetery.
