Mrs. Jean Arp, age 81, of Aragon, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Mrs. Arp was born in Aragon on August 12, 1944, the beloved daughter of the late Robert Stewart “Buck” Davis and Frances Naomi Smallwood Davis. She lived the greater part of her life in the Aragon community and was a member of Euharlee Baptist Church. Alongside her devoted husband, Glenn Walter Arp, she had the opportunity to travel the world while he served in the United States Army, creating cherished memories before returning home to Aragon, where she spent the remainder of her life. Above all else, Mrs. Arp’s greatest joy was her grandchildren; they were truly the light of her life and the center of her heart.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Arp was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Arp, a son, Greg Arp, brothers, Robert Davis, Herschel Davis, Herbert Davis, Benny Davis, and Dale Davis, and a sister, Betty Sue Davis.
Mrs. Arp is survived by a daughter, Sonya (Doug) Singleton; grandchildren, Melissa (Eron) Smart, Andrew (Shelbi) Williams, Chris Wallace, Ryan Arp, Matthew Arp, Cody Singleton, Nic Singleton, Ashlin Hayes, and Bailey Arp; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Haven, and Harlyn, along with several other great-grandchildren; sister, Tammy Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Arp will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Andrew Williams and Doug Singleton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Aragon Cemetery.
Mrs. Arp’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
Pallbearers will include Andrew Williams, Chris Wallace, Eron Smart, Doug Singleton, Sr. Cody Singleton, and Nic Singleton. Ryan Arp and Matthew Arp will serve as honorary pallbearers.
