Mrs. JoAnn Armitage, age 85, of Cave Spring, GA, passed away Monday morning, June 2, 2025, at her residence.
Mrs. Armitage was born in Newnan, GA, on May 24, 1940, daughter of the late Walter Hale and Ruby Bowles Hale. She had lived most of her life in Cave Spring and was a devout Christian. Following high school, Mrs. Armitage attended banking school at the University of Georgia. She started her banking career in 1969 and retired from United Community Bank in Cave Spring. Mrs. Armitage loved NASCAR, working in her yard and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Armitage was preceded by her husband, William Thomas “Tom” Armitage, on July 19, 2012, and a sister, Claudette Langston.
Mrs. Armitage is survived by a son, Clint Morgan; step-daughter, Donna Thomas; step-son, Darren Armitage; four grandchildren, Haley Sams, Ashley Alexander, Rebecca Morgan, and Jon Wynn; sister, Louise Johnson. Ten great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Armitage will be held on Friday morning, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cave Spring Cemetery with Chaplain Ray Miles officiating.
Pallbearers will include Bubba Sams, Jon Wynn, Ryan Browning, and Brad Ferrell.
Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mrs. JoAnn Armitage.
