Joe Lanham

Mr. William Joe Lanham, age 71, of Rome, GA (Bartow County), passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at his residence.

Joe, born on July 29, 1954, in Cartersville, GA, was the son of the late Howard Clinton Lanham, Sr. and Bertha Rachel Dean Lanham. A lifelong resident of Bartow County, Joe was the proud owner and operator of Lanham Roofing Company. He was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and had a passion for tinkering and working with his hands. Above all, Joe deeply cherished the time he spent with his family, holding those moments close to his heart.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Ollie Mae Lanham Gravley, and brothers, Eulon Andrew Bray, Charles Lee Bray, Ralph Leonard Bray, Roy Daniel Bray, Howard Clinton Lanham, Jr., and Edmon Carl Lanham.

Joe is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sandra Heath Lanham,; sons, Gregory Scott (Angela) Lanham, Jody Blue (Cindy) Lanham, and Joseph Sean (Chey) Lanham; daughters, America Dawn Lanham, Brandi Nicole Lanham, and April Michelle Lanham; grandchildren, Sage Acevedo, Levi Hunt, Tristan Hunt, Chandler Hunt, Chance Hunt, Cody Mulkey, Michaela Walls, Katie Pearl Mulkey, Tyler Lanham, Tanner Lanham, Trevor Lanham, and Tara Lanham; great-grandchildren, Gabby Rose Walpole, Maddie Jo Stegall, Luca Hunt and River Mae Hunt. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Joe will be held on Saturday afternoon, August 23, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Edwards and Rev. Josh Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery of Cartersville.

Joe’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Levi Hunt, Tristan Hunt, Cody Mulkey, Tyler Lanham, Tanner Lanham, and Trevor Lanham.
