Mr. Joel Jackson, Jr., age 67, of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away Sunday morning, March 8, 2026.

Joel was born January 9, 1959, to the late Joel Jackson, Sr. and the late Carolyn Paradise Jackson. He graduated from Rockmart High School in 1977 and later became a resident of Stone Mountain in the mid-1980s.

Joel was a member of the Methodist Church. He graduated from Georgia Tech, where he pursued his passion for computers and built a successful career in computer programming. Computers were always a great interest of his, and he took great pride in the work he did throughout his career.

Joel loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and spending time on the family property. He was also known as someone who kept a watchful eye on the neighborhood and was always willing to help others. Joel was a gifted artist including drawing, sculpting, and etching.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his sister, Judy McGinnis (David); nieces, Haley Henderson (Matt) and Keri Jordan (Micah); great niece, Anna Henderson; and great nephew, Luke Henderson. Numerous cousins also survive.

Memorial services for Joel will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Rockmart First Methodist Church.

Joel’s family will receive friends at Rockmart First Methodist Church on Friday from 1:00 pm until the service hour.
