Mr. John Jackson Wray, IV, age 57, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 6th, 2026.

John was born in San Diego, CA, on June 15th, 1969, to the late John Jackson Wray, III, and Sandra Shackelford Wray. He spent most of his life in Georgia and took great pride in the work of his hands. As an ironworker, John was skilled at his craft and was a man who knew how to get the job done.

John enjoyed the simple things in life, like fishing, surfing, being out on the water, and listening to rock music. He especially loved spending time with his family and had a way of making the people around him laugh. John was a one-of-a-kind man, and those who knew him will remember his personality, his humor, and the memories they shared with him. To know John was to love him.

In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Brooks Bourgeois, Melvin Shackelford, and Bobby Nichols.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra; his 4 children, John Wray, Jodi Wray, Krista Deems, and Caitlin McAdams; 9 grandchildren, Alexis, Aiden, Abby, Spencer, Orchid, Eerie, Alliester, Alexandria, and Kassidy Jade; his sisters, Terri Wilson, and Christina Gilliland. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

In keeping with John’s wishes, he will be cremated. A Celebrating of Life service will be held at a later date.
