Mr. Kenneth Edward Borders, age 74, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026, at his residence.

Kenneth Borders was born in Tennessee on December 7, 1951, son of the late Raymond Borders and Beatrice McCann Borders. He graduated from Rockmart High School in 1971, where he distinguished himself as a state wrestling champion. Following graduation, Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Navy, traveling extensively throughout the world during a distinguished 22-year military career before retiring from service.

After returning home to Rockmart, Kenneth founded and operated Borders Heating and Air, serving the community with dedication and professionalism for more than 30 years. His strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and service to both his country and community earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Kenneth was always ready for a round of golf.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of over 53 years, Bettie “Renee” Layman Borders, who preceded him in death on November 15, 2025, and a brother, Donnie Borders.

Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Nancie Borders and Carrie (Paul) Rakestraw; son, Kenneth Borders, II; grandchildren, Ciera (Chase) Rayburn, Connor Brock, Cole Brock, Alec Brogdon, Bailey McDonald, Glenda (Adam) Brinkley, Julie Rakestraw, and Christopher Rakestraw; great-grandchildren, Jayden Fontenot, Brelyn Pike, Kade Pike, C.J. Brock, Emmalyn Brock, Langston Owens, Kaydence Watson, Raia Rayburn, Colt Rayburn, Ryder Brinkley, Holden Brinkley, and Labron Jenkins, Jr., and Saylor Jenkins.

Funeral services for Kenneth will be held on Friday afternoon, June 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Mr. Melton Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens with the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post 12 of the American Legion conferring military rites.

Kenneth’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Danny Forsyth, John Forsyth, Alec Brogdon, Jayde Fontenot, Chase Rayburn, and Dustin Jeffery. C.J. Brock will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
