L.C. Brantley

Mr. L.C. Brantley, II, age 74, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 16, 2025.

Mr. Brantley was born in El Paso, Texas, on February 28, 1951, to the late Lewis Clifford “L.C.” Brantley and Elsie Magalene Stewart Brantley. He spent most of his life in Polk County and was of the Baptist faith. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a truck driver with Angelica, a job that suited his love of the open road.

Mr. Brantley found joy in the simple pleasures of life, hunting, fishing, and especially taking long drives just to enjoy the view. There was nothing he loved more than cruising the highways, with his favorite destination being the Great Smoky Mountains, where the scenery brought him peace and happiness.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brantley was preceded in death by a son Shannon Brantley, an infant grandson, Avery Brantley, a brother, William Richard Brantley, a sister-in-law, Janie Brantley, and a nephew, Ricky Brantley.

Mr. Brantley is survived by his wife, Ruby Lanning Brantley; children, Eric Brantley, Jody Bradford; step-children, Keith (Ellen) Welchel, Sammy (Deloris) Welchel, Rhonda (Matthew) Holt, and Stevie Welchel; sister, Linda Ferguson; brother, Harry Brantley. Eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Brantley will be cremated, and no formal services are planned at this time.
