Lydia Cole, age 78, of Rockmart, GA, passed Saturday afternoon, August 29, 2026.

Lydia was born in Carmel, CA, on March 26, 1948, daughter of the late Edward William Stoddard and Velma Camp Stoddard. She spent her childhood years in California before making her home in Rockmart, where she lived for the greater part of her life. Lydia was a talented seamstress who found joy in sewing, reading books, watching movies, and enjoying time outdoors while camping. Most of all, she treasured the time she shared with her family, creating memories that will be lovingly remembered and cherished by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Cole.

Lydia is survived by her sister, Christine Pierce (Johnny); best friend and cousin, Vivian Pierce (Preston); nieces and nephews, Crystal Lee (Dan), Christopher Eric Brown (Heather), Matthew Pierce, and Bradley Pierce; great nieces and nephews, Angelica, Willow, Rowana, Caitlin, Ivy, and Braylen. Several great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

In keeping with her wishes, Lydia will be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held later.
