Margaret Jean Rider

Mrs. Margaret Jean Rider, age 81, of Rockmart passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Cedartown, GA on September 6, 1935, a daughter of the late William Archie McLarty and Gertha Dill McLarty. Mrs. Rider moved to Rockmart from Austell where she was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith and she had a great love for her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Rider and a brother, Gary McLarty.

Survivors include her two sons: Phillip R. Deems I and his wife Debra, Jacksonville, FL and Tony Deems and his wife Nina; Pikeville, KY; two grandchildren: Phillip R. Deems II (Angela), Orlando, FL and Krista Deems, Jacksonville, FL; sister, Darnice Brownlee and her husband Loen, Douglasville, GA; sister in law Helen McLarty, Villa Rica, GA; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Northview Cemetery of Cedartown with Rev. David Warriner officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 12 noon until 2:00 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
