Marie Brownlow

Mrs. Marie Brownlow, age 83,of 279 Technology Parkway, Rome and formerly of Rockmart passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on February 1, 1925 a daughter of the late Cleo Maulding, Sr. and Thelma Harris Maulding. Mrs. Brownlow had lived all of her life in Rockmart until moving to Rome in 2005. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church and was a former employee of Integrated Mills.

Mrs. Brownlow was preceded in death by her husband, Heflin Brownlow on February 7, 1984, by a brother, Cleo Maulding, Jr., by a grandson, Marty Brownlow and by a daughter-in-law, Brenda Brownlow.

Survivors include two daughters: Sandra Snow, Atlanta and Tina Waggoner, Rockmart; two sons: Gary Brownlow, Cartersville and Lester Brownlow ,Cartersville; one sister, Frances Wills, Cedartown; one brother, Carl (Tom) Maulding, Rockmart; 5 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Owen (Bud) Davis and Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Jerry Lambert, Raude Bowman, Jr., Bobby White, Jerre White, Cordell Tibbetts and Barry Davis.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
