Martha Elkins Thomason

Mrs. Martha Elkins Thomason, age 75, of Adairsville, GA passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Boaz, AL on May 9, 1940 a daughter of the late Marvin Elkins and Amy Martin Elkins. Mrs. Thomason had lived the past forty eight years in Adairsville where she was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Dewey and Homer Elkins and by three sisters: Willie Mae Elkins, Alice Tucker and Louise Elkins.

Survivors include her husband, James Thomason of Adairsville to whom she was married on May 26, 1961; two sons: Jeff Thomason and Vince Thomason both of Adairsville; brother, James Elkins, Gadsden, AL; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: James Middleton, Tom Brownlow, Austin Weaver and Seth Weaver.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
