Martha Smith Milligan

Mrs. Martha Smith Milligan, age 77, of Aragon, GA, passed away Thursday morning, May 1, 2025.

Mrs. Milligan was born in Rome, GA, on February 22, 1948, a daughter of the late William Smith and Lillian Akins Smith. She had lived the greater part of her life in the Taylorsville and Aragon area and was a graduate of Taylorsville School. Mrs. Milligan was a housewife and homemaker and a member of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Milligan was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Milligan, sisters, Inez Roberson and Betty Garner, and a brother, Sonny Smith.

Mrs. Milligan is survived by two siblings, Harvey “Snook” (Linda) Smith, and Rachel (Jimmy) Deems; several nieces and nephews; daughter, Anna (Tim) Brock; a son, Greg Locklear; four grandchildren, Alison (Phillip) Malatesta, Ty Brock, Jenna (Mason) Thompkins, and Grace Locklear; three great-granddaughters, Rebekah Kate Malatesta, Avery Ann Malatesta, and Ryan Samantha Tompkins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Milligan will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Dempsey officiating. Billy Ward and Greg Locklear will deliver eulogies. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will include William “Monk” Hindmon, Eugene Deems, Logan Deems, Scotty Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Austin Ledbetter.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
