Mary Elizabeth Cochran Jones

Mrs .Mary Elizabeth Cochran Jones, age 88, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at her residence.

She was born in Cherokee County, GA on September 4, 1925 a daughter of Andrew Cochran and Lizzie Sorrells Cochran. Mrs. Jones lived a number of years in East Point, GA before returning to Rockmart in 1986. She was a homemaker and a member of the East View Baptist Church of Cedartown. She was preceded in death by her first husband, David A Jones ; by her second husband, Donald A. Jones; by a daughter Peggy Nicholson; by two sisters: Velma Blanton and Grace Muller; by a brother, Herbert Cochran and by two grandchildren.

Survivors include three children: Verna Davis, Waleska, GA, David Jones, Rockmart and Mabel Campbell, Rockmart; ten grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the East View Baptist Church with Rev. Reginald Campbell and Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Tim Nicholson, Ryan Nicholson, Marshall Campbell, Adam Camara, Sam Camara and Shawn Casey. Mark Jones will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
