Mary Lois Earwood

Mrs. Mary Lois Earwood, age 78, of 136 Killdeer Court, Monticello, GA formerly of Rockmart passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in an Atlanta, GA hospital following a brief illness.


She was born in Bartow County, GA on June 24, 1930 a daughter of the late Amos W. Morgan and Malottie Corbin Morgan. Mrs. Earwood had lived most of her life in the Bartow and Polk County area where she was a member of the Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church of Bartow County. She was a former employee of the Porterdale Mill where she worked as a winder. Mrs. Earwood was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. W. C. Earwood on June 21, 2004 and by a son, Mr. Eddie Sullivan.


Survivors include two sons: Gene Sullivan, Lilburn, GA and Johnny Sullivan, Collinsville, AL; one sister, Martha Sorrells, Monticello, GA; one step son, Larry Earwood, Taylorsville; three step daughters: Gail Goss, Aragon, Sandra Carroll, Cedar Bluff, AL and Janice Goss, Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 4 nephews also survive.


Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Friday, June 19, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bradford Thomas officiating.


The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
