Mary Anne Wright

Mrs. Mary Anne Wright, age 86, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Thursday evening, December 18, 2025.

Mrs. Wright was born on October 7, 1939, to the late J.W. Haney and Gertrude Hulsey Haney. She spent most of her life in Polk County, where she was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church. Before retiring, Mrs. Wright worked for many years with J.L. Lester & Sons.

She found great joy in crafting, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, cooking, and traveling, and she especially loved sharing these talents with others. Mrs. Wright never met a stranger and truly enjoyed talking with people, always making those around her feel welcome.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Thomas Wright, and brother, Garland Haney.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her children, Barron Wright, Cindy Wright Bowers, and Byron Wright; grandchildren, EllaAnne Wright, Drew (Leslie) Bowers, Matthew (Shawna) Bowers; great-grandchildren, Eli Bowers, Tucker Bowers, Kensi Bowers, Cora Bowers, and James Bowers; brothers, Lamar Haney and Mark Haney. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wright will be held on Saturday morning, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Matthew Bowers officiating. Music will be provided by Drew Bowers. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Dr. Robert Wright in charge of graveside rites.

Mrs. Wright’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Friday evening, December 26, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Dr. Robert Wright, Ben Wright, Nick Runyon, Dr. Matthew Bowers, Eli Bowers, and Ryan Grogan.
