Michael Anthony “Mickey” Moring, age 64, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Friday morning, October 9, 2026.

Mickey was born on July 5, 1962, son of the late Fred Moring and Wanda Jean Shumaker Moring. He spent his childhood in Rockmart before moving to Macon, GA, where he lived for more than 20 years. After many years away, Mickey returned home to Rockmart, where he had made his home for more than 15 years.

Mickey’s life was deeply rooted in his love for people and his faith. He served as a youth minister at several churches throughout Macon, Rome, Marietta, and Rockmart. Through his ministry, he touched the lives of many young people and found great joy in encouraging and guiding them.

A devoted University of Georgia football fan, Mickey especially enjoyed cheering on the Dawgs. But more than anything, his greatest joy was his children. He cherished every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them participate in their various sporting activities. His family was truly the center of his world, and the love he shared with them will be remembered and treasured always.

Mickey is survived by his children, Matthew, Ozzie, William, Ryan, Noah, Tucker, and Chase. Two sisters, Kelly Henson and Wendy Crites (Gary), along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, Mickey will be cremated and Celebration of Life services are incomplete at this time.
