Mr. Michael James Childers, age 53, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, April 21, 2026.

Michael was born on October 8, 1972, the son of Mr. Jimmy Childers and Mrs. Elaine Edwards Childers. He was a lifelong resident of Rockmart, where he lived his life in the Baptist faith and was a former employee of Polk County in the Public Works Department. Michael especially enjoyed going to the beach with his son, Caelen, something he cherished deeply. He also had a remarkable gift as an artist, a talent that brought him joy and reflected his creativity.

Michael is survived by his beloved son, Caelen Childers; his parents, Jimmy and Elaine Childers; and his sister, Kris Statham. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private graveside services were held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Rockmart Memorial Gardens.
