Mr. Michael Hennessee, age 60, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 in Emory University Hospital, Atlanta following a brief illness.
He was born in Chattanooga, TN on October 19, 1960 a son of the late Robert Paul Hennessee and the late Doris Ledford Hennessee. Michael grew up in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Central High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1980 until 1990. After leaving the Navy he made his home in Atlanta and for the past twenty six years he had lived in Dallas before moving to Rockmart this year. He was a member of Lost Mountain Baptist Church. Michael enjoyed drag racing, camping, NASCAR racing, flying model rockets and the Christmas season. He worked for Delta Airlines as an avionics technician.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy Hennessee, Rockmart; three children: Michael Hennessee, Jr., Oscoda, Michigan, Morgan Tucker Shore, Springfield, Virginia and Mitchell Hennessee, Woodstock, Georgia; two grandchildren: Kayla Vigil, Dallas, Georgia and Emerson Shore, Springfield, Virginia; one sister, Teresa Hennessee, Dunwoody and two brothers: Larry Hennessee and Barry Hennessee both of Dunwoody.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Loyd Shanks officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cobb County with The Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion providing Military Honors.
Pallbearers will include: Chandler Hennessee, Josh Stem, Alan Atkinson, Lance Whitmore, Mitchell Price and Gary Sloan.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are recommended.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
