Michael Leatherwood

Mr. Michael Leatherwood, age 71, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

He was born in Bartow County, GA on January 13, 1948 a son of the late L.E. Leatherwood and the late Wilma Waits Leatherwood. Mr. Leatherwood had lived in Rockmart the greater part of his life and was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ. He retired from Big River Industries where he worked as Sales Manager. He enjoyed golf, fishing and rabbit hunting. Michael loved music and enjoyed watching sporting events.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kim Leatherwood to whom he was married on October 21, 1966; three children: Kimberly Michele Noland (Derrick), Michael Shane Leatherwood (Kim) and Nicholas Lane Leatherwood (Ashley); sister, Shirley Swift (Billy); six grandchildren: Derrika Dunn, Chelsea Jones, Tanner Noland, Lane Leatherwood, Logan Leatherwood and Brody Leatherwood; four great grandchildren: Lachlan Dunn, Andilyn Moates, Scarlett Jones and Annabel Dunn.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Minister Justin Mason officiating and eulogies given by family. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jay Rice officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Eric Durocher, Brent Durocher, Kip Moore, Jeff Swift, Jason Dunn and Jeremy Jones.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Michael Leatherwood.
