Milford O. Garrett

Mr. Milford O. Garrett, age 69, of Hunter Street Rockmart passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 in the local nursing center.


He was born in Rockmart, GA on January 11, 1941 a son of Lelia Lee Garrett and the late Rufus Milford Garrett. Mr. Garrett had lived all of his life in Rockmart , was a member of the Seney Baptist Church and had worked for Tip Top Poultry.


Survivors include two daughters: Mrs.Deonne Streetman, Aragon and Mrs. Judy Thomason, Rockmart; two sons:Mr. Bobby Garrett, Aragon and Mr. Robby Garrett Rockmart; mother Mrs. Lelia Garrett, Rockmart; three sisters: Mrs. Evelyn Cleveland ,Mrs. Mary Ann Moss and Mrs. Joan Purser all of Rockmart; one brother, Mr. Charles (Tooter) Garrett, Rockmart; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Monday, July 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Cook and Rev. Donnie Sutton officiating. Mrs. Joan Purser will deliver a eulogy. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. James Coffman officiating.


Pallbearers will include: Max Moss, Wayne Purser, Charles (Tooter) Garrett, Harold Pilgrim, William P. (Billy) Lee and Homer Lee. Honorary pallbearers will include: Junior Thomas, Bryan Streetman and Tommy Streetman.


The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
