Mr. Myles Ronald Lovell, age 75, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, January 7, 2026.
Mr. Lovell was born in Rome, GA, on February 20, 1950, the son of the late Myles Hoyt Lovell, Jr., and the late Betty Jo Storey Lovell. Ronald spent most of his life in Rockmart, a place he proudly called home, and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. He later attended the University of Georgia, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics.
Ronald was a devoted member of Rockmart First Baptist Church, where his faith was evident through years of dedicated service. He faithfully served in many roles, including Chairman of the Deacon Board, Church Trustee, and Director of Youth and Children’s Ministry, always giving his time and heart to others.
A farmer for more than 50 years, Ronald had a true passion for the land and the farming community he loved so deeply. Farming was more than an occupation to him, it was a way of life, one that reflected his strong work ethic, humility, and deep roots in the community.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Lovell; sister, Charlotte Lovell Thompson; mother-in-law, Betty June Jones; and nephew, Franklin Chad Bell.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda Jones Lovell, to whom he married on September 11, 1982; nieces, Storey Katherine Thompson and Anna Kate Thompson Patterson; nephew, Christopher Blake Bell; father-in-law, Franklin D. Jones; sister-in-law, Kathy Jones Bell; brother-in-law, Randy Bell; several great nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Lovell will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Rockmart First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jason Odom officiating. His wife, Brenda, will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lovell will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 3:00 pm until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Randy Bell, Blake Bell, Todd Queen, Joe Wheeler, Brandon Woods, and Ricky Waters. Honorary pallbearers will include all of his farming buddies.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Rockmart First Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Lovell.
