Loyd "Neil" Costlow

Mr. Loyd “Neil” Costlow, Sr., age 84, of Aragon, GA, passed away Monday morning, May 5, 2025.

Mr. Costlow was born in Taylorsville, GA, on July 16, 1940, a son of the late William Ivey Costlow and Eva Meeks Costlow. He attended Taylorsville School and was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Mr. Costlow was a farmer, mostly growing soybeans, and a carpenter. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Atlanta Braves, was a softball coach and enjoyed auctions and jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to is parents, Mr. Costlow was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Gail Campbell Costlow, a son, Curtis Dale Costlow, a granddaughter, Joni Costlow, a daughter-in-law, Jane Costlow, and siblings, Hazel Williams, Eugenia Lindsey, Lee Costlow, and Dennis Costlow.

Mr. Costlow is survived by his children, Loyd Neil Costlow, Jr., Danny (Jan) Costlow, Gail Haygood, Denise (Donny) Forsyth, Ann (Michael) Bagley, and Barry (Mandy) Costlow; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Costlow; brother, Ben Costlow; sister-in-law, Betty Costlow. Twenty-two grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Costlow will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Miller and Rev. Brent Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Tony Lyle conducting graveside rites.

Mr. Costlow’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday evening, May 7, 2025, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Matthew Costlow, Brian Costlow, Clint Forsyth, Chris Costlow, Eric Forsyth, Isaiah Bagley, Austin Costlow, Frank Forsyth, Todd Brown, Dustin Runyan, Caleb Arnold, Elijah Bagley, Titus Bagley, Cody Costlow, and Dylan Costlow.
