Mrs. Ovaline Faye Arp, age 91, of Aragon, GA, passed away Saturday morning, December 6, 2025.
Mrs. Arp was born in Temple, GA, on June 9, 1934, daughter of the late Bunyon Eugene Shirah and the late Jewell Shackleford Shirah. She had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County and was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. Mrs. Arp worked for many years prior to her retirement with Goodyear Mill.
She enjoyed painting, cooking, singing in the church choir, and tending to her strawberry patch. Mrs. Arp cherished the time she spent with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Arp was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Arp, son, Malcolm Neal Wilson, and brother, Bobby Eugene Shirah.
Mrs. Arp is survived by two sons, Steve (Anne) Wilson, and Revis (Pam) Arp; grandchildren, Eric (Hope) Wilson, Nicholas (Melissa) Wilson, Anna (Jordan) Logan, Alex Wilson, Ron (Mindy) Arp, Matthew Roper, and Allison (Adam) Edenfield; great-grandchildren, Bentley Wilson, Cooper Wilson, Everett Wilson, Emmy Lou Logan, Waylon Logan, Annie Logan, Wilson Logan, Jackson Edenfield, Sadie Arp, and Sophie Arp; sister, Annette Ivey. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Arp will be held on Wednesday afternoon, December 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Shirah officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Arp’s family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Zachary Shirah, Ron Arp, Allen Ivie, and Chris Ivie.
