Mrs. Patricia Lorene Oliphant Dees, age 87, of Carrolton, GA, passed away Monday morning, September 8, 2025.
Mrs. Dees was born on December 4, 1937, in Atascosa, Texas, to the late Jesse D. Oliphant and Opal Harvey Oliphant. In 1985, she made Georgia her home, where she found great joy in gardening, raising Koi fish, and participating in the Red Hat Society.
A woman of compassion and conviction, Patricia was an advocate for individuals with special needs. Her efforts were instrumental in securing the first air-conditioned bus for special needs students, an achievement that reflected her deep commitment to the well-being and dignity of others.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dees was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dees; and sister, Elaine Steveson.
Patricia is survived by two children, Timothy (Patricia) Scott Dees, and Susan (Keith) Whiten; four grandchildren, William J. Lankford, Travis W. Lankford, Kathleen N. Hughes, and Abby McDonald; three great-grandchildren, Saleen Lankford, Herschel Hughes, and Jackson Hughes; two sisters, Dolores Greene, and Carolyn Hrncir; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Dees will be cremated, and memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society.
