Rachel L. Moody

Mrs. Rachel L. Moody, age 87, of Rockmart (The Yorkville Community), GA, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 1, 2025.

Born on March 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dewey Martin and Mary Griffin Martin. Mrs. Moody had been a resident of Paulding County since 1956 and was a devoted member of Springdale Baptist Church.

Rachel found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved sewing, tending to her flowers, and sharing her love through cooking. Above all, she took great pride in caring for her home and family, an expression of her love, strength, and dedication.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Charles Moody; 3 sisters, Louise Martin, Kate Hulsey, and Kathryn Franzmann; 4 brothers, Wade Martin, Buddy Martin, Paul Martin, and Wilson Martin; and an infant son, Larry Morales.

Rachel is survived by her children, Kim (Tracey) Lyle, Gary Morales, Steve Moody, and Scott Moody; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moody will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 5:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Leggett officiating. Interment will follow in the Yorkville Memorial Gardens.

Rachel’s family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday at 3:00 pm until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Caleb Moody, Jeremy Morales, Aaron Morales, Justin Lyle, Mason Morales, and Buck Cole.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff and nurses at Kimberly Personal Care Home for the love and compassion given to Mrs. Moody.
