Mr. Ralph D. Maxwell, age 89, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Mr. Maxwell was born November 15, 1936, in Aragon, GA son of the late Olin JB Maxwell and Mary Bell Waters Maxwell.

Mr. Maxwell spent the greater part of his life in Rockmart, and was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church where he found comfort and fellowship in his church family.

After a dedicated career, he retired from General Motors. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, searching for treasures at yard sales and thrift stores, and spending time with the people he loved most.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Maxwell is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. June Camp Maxwell; brother, Forrest Maxwell; and sister, Joyce Williams.

Mr. Maxwell is survived by his daughters: Lesia Williams, and Lori Buckner; sisters: Frances Abernathy, and Janice Schildt; brother, Larry Maxwell; very special friend, Wilma Yarborough; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to honor his life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Brother Melton Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Maxwell’s family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 am until the service hour begins.

Pallbearers will include Ken Williams, Phil Williams, Tony Maxwell, Barry Maxwell, Scott Goudreau, and Wayne Brock. Brody Williams will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rockmart Health and Rehab. for the love, compassion, and exceptional care they showed to Ralph and the family during their time with them.
