Rebecca L. Austin (Hicks) “Becky Red”, age 65, of Dallas, GA, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb.

A lifelong resident of the Yorkville community, Becky Red was born in Dallas on September 10, 1960, to the late Hubert and Sallie Hicks. Fondly known as “Becky Red” or “Red”, she cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Rebecca was very gifted with many talents including drawing, painting and baking delicious desserts. She loved a simple life of gardening, watching her favorite soap opera, talking on the phone or going through her favorite cookbooks. Red worked in the manufacturing industry but had been a housewife and homemaker for many years.

In addition to her parents, Becky Red was preceded in death by her husband, John “Hippy” Austin, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. Horace Gulledge and Diane Gulledge, brother-in-law. Mr. Jeff Isreal, and a niece, Ms. Tiffany Hicks Pope.

Rebecca is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Austin; brother, Mr. Mike Hicks (Becky); sister, Ms. Susan Isreal. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Austin will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Hicks and Rev. Kevin Hembree officiating.  Interment will follow in Yorkville Memorial Gardens.

Becky Red's family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Peyton Thorpe, Noah Hicks, Levi Hicks, Nicholas Fennell, Adam Rakestraw, and Trenton Boggs.  Jed Rakestraw and Brad Wood will serve as honorary pallbearers.
