Mr. Robert Steven Chapman, age 76, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Mr. Chapman was born in Huntington, WV, on April 27, 1950, a son of the late James Harvey Chapman, Sr., and Norma Lee Bocook Chapman. Steve spent the greater part of his life in Rome and Rockmart, where he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1970 until 1974. Steve enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, kayaking, and camping. Above all, his greatest love was his family, who held a special place in his heart.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, James Harvey Chapman, Jr..

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Vickie Chapman, to whom he married on March 9, 1970; 2 sons, James Steven Chapman and Jason Goodwin Chapman (Hollie); 3 grandchildren, Marketta Conway (Justin), Rylan Robert Chapman, and Sydni Marie Chapman; 2 great-grandchildren, Jeremy Conway and Jared Conway; 2 sisters, Elaine Winslow and Rhonda Thompson; brother, Mark Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Chapman will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Levi Wyatt officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
