Robert Stephen Cole, Jr.

Mr. Robert Stephen Cole, Jr., age 73, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Friday evening, August 29, 2025.

Mr. Cole was born on June 29, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Robert Stephen Cole, Sr. and Margie Lucille Kirby Cole. In 1987, he moved from Atlanta to Rockmart and became a cherished member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church.

A hardworking and skilled craftsman, Mr. Cole was the former owner and operator of S & S Plastering. Beyond his professional life, he found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time fishing, playing golf, and caring for his beloved game-show chickens.

Mr. Cole will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his deep-rooted faith, and the love he shared with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cole was preceded in death by a daughter, Letitsha Haney, a great-granddaughter, Addilyn “Addie” Johnson, and two brothers, Joseph Randolph Cole and Timothy Jeffrey Cole.

Mr. Cole is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Shelia Rollins Cole, whom he married October 19, 1972; sons, Shannon Wayne Cole, and Johnny Shane Cole, Sr.; sister, Rebecca Yvonne Meers; brothers, David Wayne Cole, and Buddy Thomas Cole. Five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Cole will be held on Wednesday afternoon, September 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Mountain Home Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Cole’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Tuesday evening, September 2, 2025, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Zachary Johnson, Blake Brock, Shane Cole, Thomas Cole, Tim Cole and Buddy Cole.
