Robert E. (Bobby) Turner

Mr. Robert Edwin (Bobby) Turner, age 92, of Aragon, GA passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Aragon, GA on September 1, 1927 a son of Wesley Melvin Turner and Cleo Adams Turner. Mr. Turner had lived his entire life in Aragon where he was a member of the Aragon Baptist Church. He retired following 35 years of service from the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation where he worked as a Supervisor and master carpenter. Mr. Turner was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. He was a Master Mason for 55 years and was active with Rockmart Lodge # 97 F. & A.M., the William G. England Day Lodge # 747 and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mr. Turner enjoyed fishing, hunting, classic cars and mowing his yard.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and step mother, Georgia Turner; son, James Eugene Turner; two daughters: Glenda Vaughn and Debra Wilkerson; brothers: Alfred Turner and Clifford Turner and by four sisters: Audrey Mayfield, Amy Mayfield, Nancy Poole and Delle Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Mrs. Nell Turner to whom he was married on July 7, 1946; daughter, Nan Thomas (Ron); two sons: Larry Turner (June) and Michael Turner (Selena); two sisters: Margaret Turner Myer and Jennifer Turner Childers; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 12 noon in the Aragon Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Brown officiating.
