Robert Flippo

Mr. Robert Flippo, age 74, of Cartersville, GA and formerly of Rockmart, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021.

Mr. Flippo was born in Dunfries, VA on July 27, 1946, a son of the late John Flippo and the late Elsie Davis Flippo. Robert spent his childhood years in Virginia and had lived the past twenty-eight years in Rockmart. He was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church, was a former member of the Polk County Station 4 Volunteer Fire Department, and was known by many in the Rockmart community as Santa Clause for twenty-four years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Flippo was preceded in death by his daughter, Darla Packer; and brother-in-law, Lynn Hulsey.

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-five years, Carla Moon Flippo, Cartersville; children: David Patrick and his wife, Gayla, Millry, AL, Brian Moon, Jacksonville, AL, Aaron Moon, Alpharetta, and Amanda Brinkley and her husband, Mike, Cartersville; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lucy Hulsey, Rockmart, Doris Eads, NC, and Pauline Lott, CA; brother, Eddie Lott, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial Services for Mr. Flippo will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM until the service begins at 6:00 PM.
