Mr. Robert Edward Ledford, Jr., age 69 of Cartersville, GA, passed away Thursday evening, August 13, 2026.

Robert was born on August 2, 1957, to the late Robert Edward Ledford, Sr. and the late Patricia Dea Ledford. He spent the greater part of his life in Cartersville and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.

Robert was quite the storyteller and had a wonderful sense of whimsy that brought joy to those around him. He was a talented artist, specializing in pen-and-ink drawings, and created many beautiful pieces that are displayed throughout Cartersville. He had a deep love of music, enjoyed playing basketball, and was a compassionate lover of all animals. His creativity, kindness, and unique personality will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Baker.

Robert is survived by his children, Katie Bassett (Jeremy), and Jordan Ledford; his 2 granddaughters, Harper James, and Addy Bassett; his brother, Jim Ledford; his sister, Suzie Ledford; and a nephew, Conner Horton.

In keeping with his wishes, Robert will be cremated and graveside memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 9:30 am at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors.
