Robert Wheeler

Mr. Robert B. Wheeler, age 68, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Ironton, Ohio on November 14, 1946, a son of the late Joseph E. Wheeler and the late Naomi Ross Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler spent his childhood in Ohio where he was a 1965 graduate of South Point High School and lived there until the age 17. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War and reached the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Wheeler was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Wheeler.

Survivors include his children: Keith Lindsey and his wife Marcia, Rockmart and Judy Fuqua and her husband Don, Burnsville, North Carolina; six grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; five sisters; and one brother.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. David Warriner officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
