Mr. Ronald Eugene Morgan, age 81, of Aragon, GA passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Ronald was born on October 7, 1944, in Polk County, GA to his late parents John Hugh Morgan and Sarah Crumley Morgan. He is preceded in death by his four sisters: Barbara Compton, Cherry Shoup, Donna Smith, and Dell Watford. Ronald is survived by his brother, Marvin Morgan.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Janice McKelvey Morgan; his daughter, Shanna Morgan Kelly; and his granddaughter, Marissa Kelly. He is also survived by his step-children, David Floyd (Ellen Floyd); Dawn Roberts (Todd Roberts); his grandchildren, Alec Floyd, Emily Roberts Nelson, Grayson Roberts, Jared Roberts, and his great-grandchildren.
Mr. Morgan was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1966 when he was sent to Germany on Christmas Eve to 1968 when he was honorably discharged during the Vietnam War. Ronald worked for General Motors and retired after thirty years without ever missing a day of work. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, and caring for his home. He was a big Atlanta Braves fan, never missing a game. Most of all, he loved playing golf at Prospect Golf Course for over fifty-three years with his golfing buddies.
Funeral services to celebrate Ronald’s life will be held Monday, June 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Harris officiating and military rites provided by Brown-Wright Post #12 American Legion Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Taylorsville Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Morgan.
