Mrs. Rosemary Hammonds, age 74, of Rome, GA, passed away Friday afternoon, July 3, 2026, at her residence.

Born in Rome on August 13, 1951, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Melvin Casey and the late Mary Hudgins Casey. She spent most of her life in Rome and retired from the Rome City School System after 29 years of dedicated service as a food service manager.

Rosemary found great joy in gardening and visiting the beach, but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and friends, whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her stepbrother, Ronnie Motes; her son, Christopher William Hammonds; and her grandson, Driver Chambers.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Hammonds; her daughter, Leanne Chambers; her brother, Eugene Casey; her sister, Barbara Autrey; and her grandson, Whitman Chambers.

In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Hammonds will be cremated, and no formal services will be held at this time.
