Ruth Ann Edwards

Mrs. Ruth Ann Edwards, age 79, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Thursday morning, April 17, 2025.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Rome, GA, on June 10, 1945, a daughter of the late Henry Edwards and Gaynell Dyer Edwards. She had lived all her life in Polk County and was a 1963 graduate of Cedartown High School. Mrs. Edwards was member of Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church. She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Rockmart-Aragon Hospital and Polk General Hospital and retired from Tanner Medical Center. Mrs. Edwards enjoyed reading and loved her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Edwards Camp and a brother-in-law, James Camp.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, James Douglas Edwards, whom she married on June 29, 1970; two sons, Joseph Price Steed, II (Melisha), and Jonathan Douglas Edwards; three grandchildren, Corey, Tiffany, and Miranda Steed.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Edwards will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Aragon Cemetery with Rev. Michael Sam Edwards officiating.

Pallbearers will include Barry Cole, Britt Earwood, Cory Steed, Marty McClain, Joe Steed, and Jon Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a Children's Hospital of your choosing.
