Sandra (Sandy) Morris Sosebee

July 25, 1942 — March 23, 2022

Mrs. Sandra Faye Morris Sosebee “Sandy”, beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and friend passed away at her home in Rockmart, GA, on March 23, 2022.

She was born in Rockmart on July 25, 1942 in Rockmart, GA. She was the daughter of Hoyt Morris and Doris Austin Morris. Her grandparents were William Bartow “Bart” Austin and Ruby Austin and Audie and Spurgeon Morris. She was a member of Rockmart Church of Christ.

She graduated from Rockmart High School in 1960 with honors. She was a member of the Beta Club, the chorus, the basketball team and was named “Star Student” of her class. She was married to Edward Bryan Sosebee “Ed” in September of 1962. He was the son of Maudell and Ernest B. Sosebee and the brother of Janet Sosebee Adams. They lived in Duluth, Minnesota while Ed was in the Air Force, then moved to Marietta, Georgia where Sandy worked for the Coca-Cola Company from August 1963 to 1974.

When they moved to Augusta, Georgia for Ed to attend dental school, Sandy worked for Transco Textile Industry from 1975 until 1977. She also worked for Harvey and Harriet’s Interiors in St. Simons, GA from 1978 until 1979, Deloach and Company in Brunswick, GA from 1979 until 1981 and in March of 1981 she went to work for TDS/ Camden Telephone and Telegraph Company where she worked in revenue and general accounting account analysis. She worked there for 12 years until she retired, then moved back to Rockmart to be near family.

She is survived by her sister, Vickie Morris Worsham, brother-in-law, Ray Worsham, nephew, John Worsham, her niece Allison Gore Robinson “Nikki”, Chris Robinson, great niece and nephew, Savannah and Everett Robinson, Nephew Matt Gore, great-nephews: Tyler and Logan Gore, cousins: Billy and Jimmy Austin, sister-in-law, Janet Adams, niece, Ramona Burkett, great nephew, Sebastian Ty Sosebee Burkett , Magali Burkett, great great nieces, Vitalia and Kataleya Burkett, great- niece, Hannah Cooper and great-great nephew, Kail Dary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, her mother, her grandparents, her mother and father-in-law, her aunts, uncles and several cousins.

She enjoyed accompanying her husband on hunting trips out west and visiting friends there. They also loved target and skeet shooting and won numerous awards in these sports. Sandy always had a love of books and reading and also enjoyed feeding the birds in her backyard and a squirrel or two who loved sunflower seeds too. She loved working in her backyard garden and turned it into a beautiful, tranquil place. She deeply loved all the cats who have found a loving home with her over the years. Most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be remembered dearly and be sorely missed.

Graveside Memorial Services for Mrs. Sosebee will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Rockmart Memorial Gardens at 4:00 PM.

The family will have a gathering for friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 7, 2022 after the service from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to The Humane Society in loving memory of Mrs. Sosebee.
