Obituary

Mrs. Sandra Cason Waits, age 80, of Rockmart passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Sandra was born on August 21, 1945, in Dallas, GA, the daughter of the late Franklin Edward Cason, Sr. and Edna Ruth Butler Cason. She spent the greater part of her life in Rockmart, where she was a devoted member of the Rockmart Church of Christ. She was a 1963 graduate of Rockmart High School and was later actively involved with the RHS Booster Club. She continued her education at Coosa Valley Technical College. Sandra retired from Eby-Brown Corporation after many years of dedicated service and, following her retirement, worked in the preschool program at First Methodist Church. She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, and visiting with friends, and she was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves. Sandra had a special love for animals, especially her cats, and made sure they were always cared for.

Above all, Sandra cherished her family. She shared a special bond with her grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events, dance recitals, and plays. She also treasured time spent with friends, vacations to the beach, and her Ladies’ Day trips with her church group.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Waits; grandson, Christopher Todd Davis, brother, Ed Cason; and sister, Carolyn Loggins.

Survivors include her three daughters, Kelly Wilson (Greg), Kim Bradford, and Keisha Motes (Greg); grandchildren, Drew Waits, Harley Bradford, Caroline Motes, Kelsey Motes, and Chloe Motes; step-granddaughter, Haven Hooper; step-great-grandson, Braxton Hooper; sister, Brenda Carpenter; sister-in-law, Jeanette Cason; and several nieces and nephews.
