Mrs. Sarah Ruth “Polly” Garrett, age 88, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday morning, March 23, 2026.
Ms. Polly was born in Carrollton, GA, on July 22, 1937, daughter of the late Theodore Mitchell and Allie Ruth Cook Mitchell. She had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she had worked for Aragon Mills and later retired from Engineered Fabrics. Ms. Polly was a member of Morning View Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Polly was preceded in death by a daughter, Deonne Streetman, her husband, Milford Garrett, and two sisters, Leola Yarbrough and Gladys Roberson.
Ms. Polly is survived by a daughter, Judy Thomason (Junior); sons, Bobby Garrett (Tabby), and Robby Garrett (Kathy). Ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a son-in-law, Tommy Streetman, also survive.
Funeral services for Ms. Polly will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Ms. Polly’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Robby Garrett, Bryce Garrett, Bryan Streetman, Tommy Streetman, Matthew Thomason, and Scotty Cleveland.
