Sarah Ruth Lumpkin

Mrs. Sarah Ruth Lumpkin, age 93, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, November 7, 2025.

Mrs. Lumpkin was born in Rockmart, Georgia, on September 18, 1932, a daughter of the late Thomas Ray Ferguson and Dolly Strange Ferguson. She spent the greater part of her life in Rockmart, where she retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after forty four years of dedicated service.

Mrs. Lumpkin enjoyed sewing, Swedish weaving, and reading. She was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered for her kindness, strong work ethic, and devotion to her family and community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Van Lumpkin; son-in-law, Randy Arp; grandson, Keith Arp; great-grandson, Patrick Carroll; sister, Ina Sue Brumbelow; and brother, Ray Ferguson.

Mrs. Lumpkin is survived by her three children, Douglas Tuck and his wife Cynthia, Lori Arp; and Charles V. Lumpkin, Jr. and his wife, Jackie; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Shoaf; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Melton Moss officiating.

Pallbearers will include Chris Brown, Justin Lumpkin, Sam Harris, Sam Carroll, Mike Carroll, and David Duke.
