Mrs. Sharon Yates Crawford, age 74, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 19, 2026.

Sharon was born in Carrollton, GA, on June 9, 1952, daughter of the late Thomas Denson Yates and Dara Jackson Yates. A lifelong resident of Rockmart, she was a member of Second Baptist Church of Rockmart, where her love for the Lord and her church family was evident in all she did.

A graduate of Rockmart High School, Sharon went on to earn a specialist degree from Georgia State University. She dedicated 31 years of her life to educating children as a teacher with the Polk County School District before her retirement. She was also a happy and proud member of the Rockmart High School Boas.

Sharon had a deep love for Jesus Christ and cherished the fellowship of her church family. She was an avid reader and found great joy in music, especially playing the organ and piano and singing in the choir. Her faith, love of learning, and appreciation for music touched the lives of many around her.

Above all, Sharon treasured her family. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making memories and sharing the love that meant so much to her. She will be lovingly remembered for her warm spirit, her devotion to her faith and family, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eddie Crawford, whom she married on March 20, 1970; daughter, Maria Garland (Michael); two grandsons, Jake Norris (Cameron), and Jackson Norris (Lauren); three great-grandchildren, Marlee Noris, Memphis James Norris, and Hallie Garland; three brothers, Dr. David Yates (Deborah), Dwain Yates (Deonne), and Tim Yates (Adrea). A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Sharon will be held on Saturday afternoon, August 22, 2026, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, Sharon will be cremated following the visitation.
